Several Ways to Spot Knock-off Pandora Bracelets

Almost since the beginning of time, people have loved wearing jewelry. When someone designs a particularly popular type of jewelry it is inevitable that the jewelry will be copied. This has happened recently with the very famous and popular Pandora charm bracelets. Here are several ways that you can spot knock-off charm bracelets like Pandora.

The first way you can spot knock-off Pandora bracelets is by looking for a special stamp which Pandora uses on its 14 carat gold and sterling silver jewelry components. This stamp consists of “ALE 925″ on sterling silver components and “ALE 585″ on 14 carat components. These markings are traditional jeweler’s annotations which simply mean sterling silver or 14 carat gold, respectively. If there are no such markings on the charm bracelet you are looking at, chances are it is a knock-off. One thing to note however, is that other brands may eventually adopt and use this marking, since it is not a Pandora-specific trademark.

Another way to tell if the bracelet is a knockoff is to look for the small threaded sections which Pandora is known for on the bracelet. These little ridges divide the bracelet into three sections. Each Pandora charm has a corresponding set of threads inside its hole, so the charms may be twisted easily onto the bracelet. This keeps the charms safely in the section into which they were originally placed. This system is patented, so no other bead charm bracelet system will have them.

One of the most obvious ways that you can spot knockoff Pandora charms bracelets is simply to look for the Pandora logo or the word “Pandora” stamped somewhere on the jewelry. For instance, all Pandora bracelets with a snap-type clasp have the word “Pandora” stamped on the clasp, and bracelets with a lobster claw clasps have a small oval shaped dangle-charm soldered to the clasp with Pandora’s unique three-pronged ring logo stamped on it.

If you are someone who prefers for your jewelry to be only genuine brand name jewelry, and you wish to only wear genuine Pandora charm bracelets, then by just taking a few moments to notice a few of the characteristics of the bracelet, you will be able to easily tell whether you are looking at a knockoff, or a genuine Pandora bracelet.
