Circle the wagons and increase productivity with a 360 survey

While 360 degrees makes a circle, a 360 survey makes a complete evaluation encompassing all aspects of an employee’s experience with a company.

Businesses know that recruiting, hiring and training a new employee is much more expensive than keeping an on-staff employee.  Background checks, reference checks, drug tests, the mistakes that a new person inevitably makes, the period of inefficiency that a new person goes through, and many other things contribute to the expense of hiring someone new.

Keeping someone who has already gone through all of those steps is a better choice for the bottom line, even if that means providing additional training to help him or her at the job.

Sometimes it is hard for a supervisor to evaluate an individual in his or her job duties.  A 360 survey can help with that.  Because the individual is evaluated not only by his- or herself and the supervisor, but also by the other employees, a more complete picture is gained by which the person can judge the on-the-job performance and find areas for improvement.  It will also help the supervisor to pay more attention to those things that the employee does well.

No one wants to do a job poorly.  Americans are a prime example.  Most Americans are identified by what they do.  It is the first question asked when meeting someone new.  Because the job is wrapped up in the identity, it is important for every American to succeed.  They can only do this if they have appropriate feedback that directs in ways to improve their job performance.

A 360 survey is one great way to get that information to make employees better at their jobs and instill a higher sense of self-esteem.  As their self-esteem grows, their productivity and job satisfaction will increase, and that’s good news for the company’s bottom line.
